What Is Fleya?

The Future Law Enforcement Youth Academy (FLEYA) is an educational and mentorship program created to introduce high school students to careers in law enforcement and public service. Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on workshops, and direct mentorship from federal, state, and local law enforcement professionals, students gain an inside look at how the justice system operates.

FLEYA is designed not only to spark career interest but also to build leadership, integrity, and civic responsibility, helping participants grow into positive role models within their communities.

Charles Grady, Creator of FLEYA.

Charles Grady founded the Future Law Enforcement Youth Academy to bridge the gap between young people and the world of public safety. Drawing from his decades of experience in federal law enforcement and community engagement, he built FLEYA as a way to educate, mentor, and inspire students who show interest in leadership and service.

His vision was to create more than just a career pathway program. By combining academic learning with real-world exposure and mentorship, Grady designed FLEYA to cultivate character, responsibility, and civic pride in the next generation. The program continues to reflect his commitment to guiding youth toward meaningful futures in law enforcement and beyond.
